The importance of our circles of success. If you have a circle of optimistic and driven people, you’ll end up being more successful

It got me thinking about the importance of our circles. Jim Rohn's hashtag#JimRohn concept of "the 5 people you spend the most time with" highlights the power of social influence. Research supports the idea that our habits, attitudes, and behaviours are shaped by those we interact with most. If you spend time with optimistic and driven people, you’re more likely to adopt those traits. In contrast, negative influences can hold you back.
As a solo entrepreneur, I often find myself in cafes and shared spaces when I am in delivery mode as I focus better when I am in a social environment- and it proves to me how important being with people is. I’ve learned that having a strong, supportive network is even more essential when you're out there trying to build something on your own. You need people who understand the journey and are there to support you.
For you Tech Founders out there, the weight of responsibility can still feel overwhelming and sometimes isolating , even with a team. This is why it’s crucial to carefully select your mentors, peers, and collaborators—people who inspire, challenge, and support you. The right people will help you navigate challenges, make better decisions, and push you to grow, both personally and professionally.
The company you keep matters! Surrounding yourself with individuals who share your values, ambition, and drive can create an environment that accelerates your success.
This is what I love about the tech ecosystem – it’s filled with driven individuals who want to support others on their path to success. I’m fortunate to have a fantastic network and I continue to be inspired by others who are carving their own paths and still find the time to help others.
Choose your circle wisely, and watch how it accelerates your journey to success and happiness. :)
